Verbruggen Palletizing Solutions B.V. Lays the Foundation for the Future
EMMELOORD – On Friday, September 13th, two generations of Verbruggen directors drove the first piles into the ground for the new Verbruggen Palletizing Solutions building at Munt B in Emmeloord.
Founder Alex Verbruggen was the first to press the button for the initial pile, which was inscribed with the company’s core values. Employees signed the other piles before they were driven into the ground, symbolically making everyone a part of the foundation for both the new building and the future of the organization. Directors Maarten and Wouter Verbruggen, alongside their father and former director Alex Verbruggen, looked on at the construction site where the brand-new building is expected to be completed by the summer of 2025. “This is a very special moment for us. Thirty-five years ago, our father started this company with two employees in a small building elsewhere in Emmeloord. Now, here we are again together, with more than 120 employees, witnessing Verbruggen’s growth on all fronts at Munt B,” said Maarten. A significant moment for father and sons, as well as for the employees who were present.

Family Business
“We are a family business, and you can feel that in our culture. We are deeply connected to each other. That’s why I think it’s so important that we experience both the construction and the move together as a team. We truly do this together,” Wouter Verbruggen explains.
Benny Steen Redeker, who has worked at Verbruggen for more than 30 years, added: “It’s remarkable that I get to experience this as one of the first employees. I hope to remain part of the family for a long time. Being involved from the beginning makes this feel like a milestone, not only for the company but also for me personally. It’s a confirmation of all those years of dedication and hard work by everyone, something we can all be proud of.”
Sustainability
The Verbruggen team was also given a tour of the construction site for the first time. Construction supervisor Freek Lammers of Lammers Bouwmanagement guided them through the building plans. “It’s great to see that employees are already excited about their new workspace, even though there’s little to see of what it will become. We are building the facility according to a GPR score of 8, which means we are using the latest standards for building materials and technical installations. Munt B will soon be home to another beautiful, sustainable, and future-proof building. We’re doing this in close collaboration with other (construction) partners, each with their own expertise. Like the employees, I’m looking forward to the final result!”
