A Successful Potato Demo Day at Nieuwkerk Aardappelhandel

On Wednesday, August 21, Verbruggen, together with Nieuwkerk Aardappelhandel, organized a Potato Demo Day where visitors could see the machines live in action.

Visitors were greeted with the scent of potatoes and the sound of running machines, which immediately created a vibrant atmosphere and sparked curiosity.

You don’t just bring a palletizer along for a demonstration, so this day provided the perfect opportunity for visitors to see the machines in real life, in action. What started as a spontaneous idea when we installed our latest palletizer at Nieuwkerk, grew into an event that attracted many interested parties. We decided to align it with the large Potato Demo Day in Westmaas: you don’t often have the entire potato industry gathered so close by! From 5:00 PM onwards, those interested could stop by to see the machines in action.

With nearly 80 visitors – from suppliers to exporters – it was a very successful day. Together with partners KV Techniek, Rogo Machines, Broson, Sarco Packaging, and RB Techniek, we showcased a wide range of innovations.

A full house at the Nieuwkerk family! The enthusiasm and positive feedback confirmed that events like these are highly appreciated. It was wonderful to see so many like-minded individuals with a passion for the industry come together. The informal setting fostered valuable conversations where ideas and experiences were exchanged.

Will we do this more often? Definitely, but not every year – we want to keep it special. For now, we look back on this day with great satisfaction!
