The right part, right at your fingertips

A sensor, cable, or relay: sometimes, a single small component is all it takes to bring an entire production line to a standstill.

    An interview with: Kor Kasper

A sensor, cable, or relay: sometimes, a single small component is all it takes to bring an entire production line to a standstill. And when that happens, the last thing you want is to wait for a replacement part to arrive. That’s why Verbruggen Palletizing Solutions developed the Service Hub. Stocked with carefully selected spare parts, it provides dealers and customers with the essential components they need to carry out initial repairs right on-site. “Above all, it provides peace of mind. If something goes wrong, you can get back up and running much faster,” explains After Sales Engineer Kor Kasper.

The new Service Hub was initially developed to provide Verbruggen dealers with even better support. Having essential spare parts readily available allows them to respond more quickly when their customers need assistance. However, a dedicated Service Hub can also be a valuable solution for larger customers operating multiple Verbruggen machines.

“We’ve put together a standard Service Hub for our dealers, containing the most essential spare parts,” Kor explains. “For customers, we offer a customized solution. We look at how many Verbruggen machines they operate and which types of machines they have. Based on that information, we determine which components are most important to keep in stock on-site.”

The parts you need, when you need them

The Service Hub isn’t simply filled with a large assortment of spare parts. Instead, its contents are carefully selected, focusing on components that are more susceptible to failure and may need to be replaced quickly in the event of a malfunction. Examples include sensors, cables, PLC cards, and relays.

According to Kor, that’s exactly what makes the concept so valuable. “If one of these components fails, you don’t want your machine sitting idle any longer than necessary. With the Service Hub, you have the replacement part right at your fingertips and, in many cases, can carry out the repair yourself. Of course, our Verbruggen team is also available to provide remote support whenever needed.”

Friday afternoon…

The value of having spare parts readily available becomes particularly clear when Kor describes a familiar scenario. Imagine a component failing on a Friday afternoon. Without spare parts on-site, the replacement would have to be shipped from Verbruggen. Even under the best circumstances, it might not arrive until Monday.

“That could mean a significant amount of downtime, all because of a relatively small component. With the Service Hub on-site, you can simply take the replacement part from the cabinet and get straight to work. It provides much greater reliability and peace of mind for your production process.”

Restocking the Service Hub is equally straightforward. Each component has its own designated compartment, clearly labeled with the corresponding part number. Once a part has been used, a replacement can easily be ordered from Verbruggen using that number. This ensures the Service Hub stays fully stocked and ready for the next time a quick response is needed.

Supporting customers throughout the entire machine Life Cycle

The Service Hub is part of Verbruggen’s broader commitment to supporting customers throughout the entire life cycle of their machines. Our Life Cycle Program goes beyond providing service when something goes wrong. It’s also about taking a proactive approach to preventing disruptions and minimizing their impact on production. Supporting our customers throughout the entire life cycle of their machines is such an important priority for Verbruggen that we’ve recently appointed Dennis Osinga as our new Life Cycle Account Manager, further strengthening our commitment to long-term customer support.

“By keeping these essential spare parts on-site, we can help customers maintain production with as little disruption as possible,” Kor explains. “The necessary components are already available at the dealer’s or customer’s facility, and we can provide remote support from Verbruggen whenever needed. This allows us to deliver faster, more effective support throughout the entire life cycle of the machine.”
