Three New Machines, One Smart End-of-Line Solution

A conversation with Johan van der Reest, Account Manager at Verbruggen Palletizing Solutions

Verbruggen Palletizing Solutions has expanded its portfolio with three new machines: V-Pack, V-Weigh, and V-Load. Together with Verbruggen’s well-known palletizing systems, they form a powerful end-of-line automation solution for the agricultural industry.

According to Johan van der Reest, Account Manager, the expansion reflects a clear shift in customer demand. “We’re seeing a growing need for complete end-of-line solutions,” Van der Reest explains. “Customers no longer want separate machines from different suppliers. They’re looking for one integrated line where weighing, bagging, and palletizing are fully aligned.”

With the addition of the V-Weigh, V-Pack, and V-Load, Verbruggen can now deliver a fully coordinated line where all machines work seamlessly together — even controlled through a single HMI interface. “That level of integration makes a huge difference in ease of use and efficiency,” says Van der Reest.

Automation for the Agricultural Industry

The new machines are primarily designed for agricultural producers and packershandling bulk products such as potatoes, onions, carrots, and other bagged produce. “In agriculture, reliability and simplicity are essential,” Van der Reest says. “Producers need machines that are robust, easy to operate, and capable of running consistently during long production periods.” At the same time, the sector is facing increasing pressure from labor shortages and rising operational costs. “Automation is becoming less of a luxury and more of a necessity,” he adds. “Our solutions significantly reduce manual work while improving consistency and productivity.”

A Complete End-of-Line Solution from One Supplier

What sets Verbruggen apart, Van der Reest explains, is the company’s holistic approach to end-of-line automation. “We don’t just deliver individual machines — we deliver the complete picture. When you combine the V-Load, V-Weigh, and V-Pack with our palletizers, the entire line comes from one manufacturer.”
That approach provides customers with several practical advantages. “It means one point of contact, one service partner, and machines that are truly designed to work together. For customers, that results in a more reliable and efficient production line.”

V-Load – Automatic Bag Placer

One of the most immediate benefits of the V-Load automatic bag placer is its ability to solve a common operational challenge: staffing. “The V-Load eliminates the need for an operator to manually place bags,” Van der Reest explains. “That alone solves a major labor issue for many facilities.”

In the long run, automation can also provide financial advantages. “Over time, the V-Load often becomes more cost-effective than relying on manual labor.”
Another important benefit is the machine’s perfect synchronization with the Verbruggen VPM-5 palletizer. “The capacity matches seamlessly, which keeps the entire line running smoothly without bottlenecks or downtime.”

According to Van der Reest, the investment becomes particularly attractive at higher production volumes. “Once you reach around 400 bags per hour, the benefits of automation quickly become clear.”

V-Weigh – Reliable Automatic Weighing

The V-Weigh automatic weigher is designed to provide accuracy, reliability, and ease of use for agricultural packaging operations. “The V-Weigh is manufactured in the Netherlands and combines reliability with simplicity,” Van der Reest says. “It’s a robust solution that does exactly what agricultural businesses need — without unnecessary complexity.”

For optimal performance, he recommends the dual feed hopper configuration. “Especially when the V-Weigh is integrated with other machines in the line, the dual feed hopper improves both accuracy and capacity.” Low maintenance requirements are another key advantage. “Farmers and packers want equipment that just works. The less time they spend on maintenance, the more time they can focus on their core business.”

V-Pack – Semi-Automatic Bag Sewing Line

The V-Pack semi-automatic bag sewing system is designed for producers who are ready to increase efficiency but are not yet ready for a fully automated packaging line. “The V-Pack is ideal for companies packaging more than 1,500 tons per year,” Van der Reest explains. “It’s a perfect step toward further automation.”
One of the system’s strengths is its flexibility and scalability. “Customers appreciate that they can start with the V-Pack and later expand the line with the V-Load. That allows them to invest in automation step by step.”

The Power of Integration: From Individual Machines to a Complete Line

When combined, the V-Load, V-Weigh, V-Pack, and a Verbruggen palletizercreate a fully integrated agricultural bagging and palletizing line. “It’s essentially one-stop shopping,” says Van der Reest. “Customers have one partner for service, maintenance, and support. That makes everything simpler and more efficient.”

For businesses looking to modernize their packaging operations, that integrated approach can make a significant difference.
