Verbruggen Palletizing Solutions: Over 30 Years of Innovation in Palletizing

Since 1991, Verbruggen Palletizing Solutions has stood for smart, reliable, and future-ready palletizing solutions. What started as a construction and machine-building company, founded by Alex Verbruggen together with his brother Mart, has grown into a globally operating specialist in stacking solutions. Today, Verbruggen is a leading supplier of palletizers with a strong focus on quality, innovation, and long-term customer relationships.

Active Since 1991: Experience That Matters

With more than three decades of experience, Verbruggen understands production and logistics environments like no other. The company’s origins lie in the development of a “stacker” for seed potatoes. Soon after, a major advancement followed, driven by a request from an onion trader: a stacker with a stacking bin, in which the stack is strapped before removal. This design proved to be an immediate success. Orders poured in, and a second model quickly followed, featuring an infeed conveyor for bags, enabling higher capacities. Over the years, the machines have been continuously refined, always with practical application in mind. This combination of experience and innovation still forms the core of the company today.

Operating Worldwide from Emmeloord

By the mid-1990s, the Verbruggen brothers realized that the Netherlands was too small for such a specialized product. The first international contacts were established, marking the beginning of worldwide exports.

To stay close to (potential) users—one of the company’s key strengths—Verbruggen opened sales and service offices in the United States, Thailand, Argentina, and India starting in 2013. Careful consideration is given to local culture, market demand, and purchasing power. Understanding, valuing, and respecting customers is deeply embedded in Verbruggen’s DNA. In addition, the company works closely with an extensive international network of distributors.

Stacking Virtually Any Product

Verbruggen’s home base remains Emmeloord. From the new headquarters on Cavalier, more than 100 specialists work every day to deliver reliable and innovative stacking solutions for a wide range of industries, including agriculture, food, non-food, and pet food & animal feed.

Thanks to modular and flexible systems, solutions are always tailored to the customer’s specific requirements and processes. Even non-rigid products can be stacked efficiently and stably. In addition to palletizing solutions, Verbruggen has also been a supplier of weighing, bagging, and closing machines since 2026, following the acquisition of Thomech.

New Worplace Verbruggen

Everything Under One Roof

At Verbruggen, all disciplines are handled in-house: from sales and design to engineering, software development, assembly (both in the factory and on customer sites worldwide), and after sales/service. Wherever customers are located, they can rely on Dutch engineering, proven technology, and personal support.

New Headquarters and Growth Ambitions: Looking Ahead to 2026

In recent years, Verbruggen has experienced strong growth, and this development continues. What remains unchanged are the values of the family business: commitment, craftsmanship, and attention to people—both employees and users of Verbruggen machines worldwide. Under the daily leadership of Maarten and Wouter Verbruggen, sons of founder Alex, the new headquarters provides space for further team expansion and the development of new technologies. The focus is on innovation within end-of-line solutions.
