Who we are

Smart Technology with a human dimension

Verbruggen is a specialist in palletizing technology – we’ve been in the business for over almost 35 years. Our story began in an old warehouse in Emmeloord-Oost, a part of the Netherlands famed for its engineering prowess. Here, in 1991, two brothers embarked on a joint business adventure, combining their expertise and experience in the metal industry. We’ve since evolved into a highly respected brand with customers in over 45 countries around the globe. As a family company, Verbruggen is proud of its Dutch roots and is now managed by the second generation.

From our headquarters in the Netherlands and branch offices in the US, Argentina, and Thailand, we provide reliable, fast, and smart palletizing solutions to customers in a range of industries. We make sure you can stack any size or dimension of packaged product: from the finest grains of salt to the bulkiest potatoes.

All of our machines are developed and built in-house. From operations and mechanics to integration and servicing: Our talented team of engineers and technicians combines cutting-edge technology with a personal approach to deliver smart solutions that are perfectly aligned with your needs.

1991 2025
1991

Establishment of Verbruggen

The construction and machine-building company Verbruggen was founded by two brothers in Emmeloord, the Netherlands. Driven by a practical approach to technology, they soon envisioned ways to improve and automate customers’ processes.

1992

First palletizing machine built

The brothers consolidated their range of machines into one smart solution for automatically stacking bags of seed potatoes: the Verbruggen palletizing machine.

1996

Out into the world

Verbruggen received its first international order. Attracting customers from around the world, Verbruggen’s machines expanded the company’s impact on the world stage.

1999

Fleet of 100 machines

Verbruggen went from success to success, commissioning its one hundredth machine within its first years in business.

2013

First branch office outside the Netherlands

Aware of the growing importance of delivering fast, local support, we opened our first branch office in Pasco, Washington to enhance our customer service in North America.

2016

The next generation takes the lead

With their sights set on pursuing further innovations, the next generation took up the reins at our headquarters in the Netherlands.

2020

Global market leader

With a fleet of over 1,000 machines in 38 countries worldwide, Verbruggen is a market leader in palletizing solutions for non-rigid products.

2025

Sustainable headquarters

We relocated to brand-new, sustainable headquarters in Emmeloord. Equipped with solar panels, geothermal heat pumps, and the latest energy management systems, our energy-efficient office is a prime example of circular building construction.
