  • Vintage Sugar & Creamer Set, Bavarian Porcelain, The Dundee Pattern, Germany Porcelain, Tableware, Condiment Servingware, Large Pink Rose, (Discontinued)
  • Made in Bavaria, Germany
  • Vintage: 1962
  • Details:  This is an absolutely gorgeous set of creamer and sugar! The pattern is called "The Dundee", it has one large pink rose in the center and a thick gold rim.  The china has lovely embossed swirls and the border is scalloped which gives it a lovely, elegant, very romantic look. The backstamp reads:  "Hutschenreuther Selb LHS Bavaria Germany" which tells us it were made between 1939 and 1965.  However, there is also a stamp for Pasco. Pasco was an importer based in New York and they were in business from 1915 to 1970.  We've researched this pattern and believe it was issued in 1962, which coincides with the two marks.  If you are trying to collect this pattern or are looking for a beautiful set of creamer and sugar for your table or buffet, we hope this is a happy find.  We also carry more serving pieces and complete dinnerware sets in this pattern.

Hutschenreuther AG was started by Carl Magnus Hutschenreuther, originally as a German porcelain decorating factory in Hohenberg, Bavaria, in 1814. In 1822 they started to produce their own porcelain. Carl passed away in 1845, his wife Johanna, and their two sons, Christian and Lorenz, took over the company.  In 1857 Lorenz left to start his own company, Hutschenreuther Selb, and partnered with Haviland and Wedgwood. When Lorenz died in 1886, his sons Viktor and Eugen, took over the company. Hutschenreuther Selb expanded from 1905 through 1928 by acquiring several other porcelain factories.  Christian Hutschenreuther (C.M. Hutschenreuther), also expanded during these years, acquiring a porcelain factory in Arzberg in 1880 and factories in Bohemia, Silesia, and Saxonia in the early 1900s. Unfortunately these factories were lost when Germany was divided after World War II.   In 1969, Lorenz Hutschenreuther purchased C. M. Hutschenreuther and created Huttschreuther AG. He kept expanding and by the late 1990's Hutschenreuther AG comprised 15 production sites with a workforce of over 6,00 employees. In 2000, Hutschenreuther became part of the Rosenthal Division of the Wedgwood Group. Rosenthal continues to use Hutschenreuther’s trademark.
